Obituary of Scott William Vaughn

Scott William Vaughn, born May 18, 1962, went to be with our lord in the early morning of July 30, 2020.

Scott grew up in Eugene, attended school and served in the National Guard. He became a first time father in 1985; a son, Jeremy Vaughn; three years later, a second son, Barry Vaughn; one year later, a daughter, Christine Vaughn. He loved to bicycle his three little ones all over Eugene.

Scott is survived by his mother, Donna Vaughn; his sister, Lori Lynch, whom he loved and respected. He also had many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Barry Vaughn.

Scott’s main hobbies and love was for motorcycles and trail riding competition. He had enough trophies to fill the fireplace mantel. Mom would take them down and put them in his room, he would put them right back on the mantel. He was so proud of each one of them.

Scott lived several years in Phoenix and Siloam Springs, Arkansas, where he managed a printing business. He lived the past three years in Brookings, Oregon, up until he became too ill. Two months ago he returned home to Eugene.

Scott had a very big heart. He loved his life, often making his own rules. He was an adventurer in many ways, preferring the stars over his head to a cozy, warm and dry place.

A few days before passing, while still able to talk, he reached up for mom’s arm, wrapped his arm around hers, and said “I love you.”

Scott will be missed tremendously. He will never be forgotten.
